Intimate October Wedding in a Cozy Cabin | Virginia Elopement Photographer

Antonia and Joey are the perfect examples of a couple willing to do whatever they want on their wedding day. Joined with their closest family and of course their adorable pup, BMO, their wedding day was filled with nothing but joy, laughter and a good ol’ time.

It was a beautiful Fall day, not too warm and not too cold but it was just right. The PERFECT autumn weather if you ask me! To start off their special day, they rented out a cabin with both of their families at the foot of Shenandoah National Park. They decorated the inside of the cabin with photos from their engagement session, photos of family (to make it feel more like home), set up some twinkle lights and set the table with unique glasses from their favorite breweries, beautiful china and wanted to make. the whole cabin to feel like Christmas, which indeed they did succeed!

They got ready separately in their cabin and then had their first look. Now here is where things get fun!! During their first look, Antonia surprised Joey with a mask from the Beetlejuice movie… of course she then gave him a mask of his own! I absolutely love when my couples incorporate fun details and moments that truly make their wedding day unique and totally theirs! We made sure to snag some shots of these because it was just too epic to miss!

After their first look, we all headed down to a pond that was only a few minutes away from their cabin. They took a stroll with their pup and waited for their family to show up for their ceremony. For the ceremony, we were lucky to have Joey’s dad be the officiant! They read their own vows (a real tear jerker moment), passed around their rings for each person to hold with their well-wishes, and popped champagne. Immediately after we headed back to their cabin for some delicious food, cake, toasts, and an insanely fun dance party.

This cozy cabin fall wedding was an absolute dream come true. From the beautiful cabin decorations to the incredibly touching wedding ceremony to an amazing reception, it was all so magical. It didn’t just stop there, we became such fast friends during their wedding planning process that I got to visit them while driving through their city this past Summer! They brought. my husband, Johnny, Beatrice and I to one of their local breweries, and then we all freaked out when we found out our mutual obsession with Survivor. So, obviously we’ll be returning for a Survivor viewing party.
