Seasons are tough in Virginia and in the mountains! September could be considered both Summer and Fall because of the weather. If you’re looking for the infamous orange leaf change, then I definitely suggest October because you will still have vivid greens in September.
I included March and April for Winter, because you can still have freezing days in the mountains and Skyline Drive has closed down a lot in March for snow and ice. I almost included May, too, because we’ve had freezing cold elopements in early-May.
